Lake Rosseau is located in Ontario, Canada, about 200 km north of Toronto. The lake is surrounded by many cottages, some luxury, some simple, some dating back to the late 19th century. The first wilderness hotel was built at the head of Lake Rosseau in 1870, called Rosseau House.
Lake Rosseau is in the north-central area of Muskoka and extends into the Township of Humphrey in Parry Sound District. Lake Rosseau drains into Lake Muskoka by way of the locks system on the Indian River and connects to Lake Joseph via the Joseph River and the narrows at Port Sandfield.
Lake Rosseau is a large, deep, clear lake. It is one of the largest and best lake trout lakes in the district, possessing excellent lake trout habitat and supporting a large fishery. It is intermediate in water clarity, between Lake Joseph (clearer) and Lake Muskoka (more tea coloured).

Jim did me a favor 20 years ago and I wanted to return the favor – I approached him and Iris at the cottage show and, even though I already had a real estate agent, he recommended a cottage property that I purchased and enjoyed for those 20 years.
